This workshop has been developed for JDI member programs, DPH funded rape crisis centers and JDI invited guests.

Please note: There is no fee for this workshop and we ask that all participants pre-register.  

Food will not be served; there is a cafeteria on site and/or you may bring your own.


This all day training will feature:

  • Campus Sexual Assault: Advocating Under Title IX. This information packed workshop by Lindy Aldrich , Esq. of the Victim Rights Law Center (see bio below) will review what rights and options victims have under Title IX.  Using this framework and the recent Department of Education Office of Civil Rights Dear Colleague Letter, the presentation will share experiences and tips on how to successfully advocate for victims in education settings.  
  • Panel Presentation from advocates in sexual and domestic violence programs will discuss their work with campuses in their communities.
  • An Interactive Discussion about the work of the Massachusetts Working Group on Campus Sexual and Domestic Violence reporting to the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual and Domestic Violence.

 About our Trainer:  Lindy Aldrich has been with the Victim Rights Law Center since 2007, beginning as a staff attorney and becoming Deputy Director in 2010. Along with managing the daily activities of the VRLC, she continues to represents victims of sexual assault across the Commonwealth in a wide range of legal areas, including education, privacy, safety and federal and state government benefits. As a trainer on the VRLC’snational Technical Assistance grant, Lindy trains around the country on a number of topics including Title IX and Campus Sexual Assault Policies and Response. She has been a Resource Team member and trainer for the OVW Campus Program Training and Technical Assistance Institute since 2010 and a recent presenter for the Project STOP NOW! conference for campus administrators from historically black colleges and universities. Lindy was recently named one of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2012 Top Women in the Law and she is a member of the Rappaport Center on Law and Public Service Advisory Board. Ms. Aldrichattended Suffolk University Law School.
