Set in Salem, "The Lace Reader" tells the story of a family of women who can see visions of the future through lace and the extent to which they will go to keep their own family secrets buried for generations. With a shocking twist ending, the novel also explores domestic violence and its impact on survivors right here on the North Shore.

Deborah Becker, senior correspondent & WBUR host, will facilitate an engaging discussion with Brunonia about the novel, her writing process, and how the dynamics of domestic violence affects not just one family but a whole community. Participants will be invited to submit questions to Brunonia during the live stream.

The book is quite a fun read. Two of Brunonia's books, including "The Lace Reader," are currently being created into a TV series by NBC/Universal.
