Join Jane Doe Inc. and our allies at the State House to make one final push for sex education and to urge our state reps to bring the bill to the floor for a vote.
For nearly a decade, you have lobbied your state lawmakers and organized in your community for the Healthy Youth Act, which would protect young people from the threat of abstinence-only propaganda in our schools. Because of your efforts, the legislation passed the Massachusetts Senate a year ago, and a majority of the House of Representatives support the bill. Now, the House has less than one month left to pass the bill.
Our federal government is intent upon undermining the hard-won rights of women, LGBTQ people, and people of color. Young people, too, are vulnerable to the anti-science ideology of the Trump-Pence administration, which has used the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program to push dangerous abstinence-only programs. This is exactly why we are so dedicated to fighting back and creating a safe, inclusive, and healthier world for our young people. They have a right to an education free from shame and stigma. More than that, they deserve to feel empowered and knowledgeable about their bodies, health, and relationships. Let’s make this happen once and for all.
See you at the State House.
