DOVE, INC presents Representation of Immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence.

  • Wednesday, December 04, 2019
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Foaley Hoag, 155 Seaport Blvd # 1600, Boston, MA 02210

Join DOVE, Inc. (Domestic Violence Ended, Inc.) for a training on affirmative immigration relief available to immigrant survivors of domestic violence.  The training is open to attorneys interested in taking on pro bono cases, legal services attorneys and accredited representatives, and will cover best practices when working with survivors of trauma and domestic violence as well as the most common forms of immigration relief including:

  •    U visas for victims of serious crimes;
  •    VAWA Self-Petitions for abused spouses of US citizens and green card holders;
  •    Removal of Conditions for abused spouses and children who have obtained conditional residency; and
  •     Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for abused, neglected, and abandoned youth.

The training will also provide an overview of the life of a case and allow plenty of time for questions. DOVE’s immigration program provides representation to survivors of domestic violence in affirmative immigration applications to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and is seeking to expand representation by providing training and in-depth mentorship to pro bono attorneys able to take on a case. The DOVE Immigration Attorney will follow up with those interested in taking a case from DOVE following the training for case placement.

RSVP is required for this training and you will need to show photo ID to access the building.

Please RSVP by December 2.
