Training Description:

MassSupport's coping groups use a post-traumatic stress management model to address a wide range of responses to a disturbing event or time. The model asks questions about the group's reactions in terms of their bodies, minds, and emotions and helps identify coping strategies people can use when they are under overwhelming stress. Each person gets a chance to answer or pass on the questions.

The goal of this activity is to:

  1. Talk about trauma and stress and the human response to potentially traumatic events
  2. Help people identify and share personal coping strategies
  3. Encourage participants to leave the meeting with a personal care/ health plan they can implement immediately
